Background

Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara, has long been recognized as one of the best natural tourism destinations in Indonesia. At the heart of this natural charm lies the Sembalun Valley—a majestic highland region nestled at the foot of Mount Rinjani, surrounded by exotic landscapes of hills and savannas. In line with the growing tourist interest in sport tourism and outdoor activities, the Sembalun area continues to innovate, offering experiences that are both challenging and visually stunning for adventure seekers.

Driven by this extraordinary natural potential and the spirit of reviving local tourism (particularly following a series of earthquakes and the pandemic), the Sembalun Seven Summits initiative was launched in October 2020. Pioneered directly by a committee of local youth and tourism enthusiasts, this concept was inspired by the legendary challenge of global mountaineers, the "World Seven Summits." This initiative weaves the charm of seven peaks around the Sembalun caldera into a single integrated, iconic adventure tourism package, making it the first of its kind within a single region in Indonesia.
